INDIANAPOLIS—An Indianapolis man was convicted of murder this week for the shooting death of a 30-year-old Papa John’s delivery driver in 2023.

The victim, Steve Flynn, was found with a fatal gunshot wound on Priscilla Avenue. The suspect, Justin Turner, was identified through security footage and phone records linking him to the crime.

Police say they arrested Turner with the murder weapon in his possession and was convicted of the crime.  Detectives also discovered a video of Turner speaking on social media and it matched the voice recording of call ordering the pizza.

Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears expressed condolences to Flynn’s family, highlighting the tragic loss of a husband and father.

“Steve Flynn was a husband and a father who was working that night to make a little extra cash for his family when he was so senselessly taken from them. The combination of community cooperation and digital and forensic evidence put our prosecutors in position to secure justice on behalf of Steve and his loved ones,” said Mears.

Turner is scheduled to be sentenced May 9.
