Person Killed in Crash on Indy’s South Side

INDIANAPOLIS—A person on a motorcycle died in a crash on the south side of Indianapolis Sunday afternoon.

At around 2:55 pm, IMPD said they were called to the intersection of Heathwood Drive and Emerson Avenue on a report of an accident. That is near Stop 11 Road and Franciscan Hospital.

They believe the person on the motorcycle was going northbound on Emerson Avenue when a separate vehicle was going southbound. Police believe the driver was making a left turn when the collision happened.

The person on the motorcycle died while the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene to cooperate with investigators.

The driver of the vehicle was transported for a blood draw, which is standard procedure in both fatal and serious injury crashes.
