Last month when Maxwell postponed several summer concert dates, a beef between him and fellow tour headliner Jill Scott was allegedly to blame.

With a roll of the eyes and a sigh, backstage at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, over the 4th of July weekend, Scott denied any acrimony between her and the sexy crooner saying, “I adore him,” among other compliments.

The “Hate on Me” singer said they have plans to go to Europe and their vibe is so strong they could tour together for the rest of their lives.

“There was no competition, no funkiness. He believes in me, I believe in him …”

Internet reports indicated that both Scott and Badu continued “on and on” in their sets, leaving less time for the male headliner. While the show continued through June, some tour dates were planned forward to the Summer of 2011.

Shorefire Media issued a release stating some of the tour dates were postponed “due to scheduling conflicts with the venues.” Live Nation gave refunds for tickets which also featured Erykah Badu and Melanie Fiona on the show.
