Mary J. Blige made a strong big screen debut in the Tyler Perry directed film “I Can Do Bad All By Myself” earlier this year. While Blige admits to enjoying the opportunity, it may be sometime before we see her in theaters.

“…I have scripts now that they’re sending over,” Blige tells Billboard. “There aren’t a lot of great parts out there, so they’re trying to pick the best material for me. I’m waiting patiently, but you will definitely see me in more films.”

Beyond film, Blige is happy to return to music with the soon-to-be released effort “Stronger With Each Tear.” Due in stores December 21, the “I Am” featured album is something Blige drew from fans.

“Honestly, it goes back to my fans,” says Blige. “I have a responsibility to them and they let me know that it’s a responsibility. I read things all the time from them like, “Please keep doing what you doing.” Or “I’m listening to ‘Growing Pains’ right now and it’s getting me through my day.” It’s just the things people say that connect me with their lives . . . that keeps me going.”
