Fantasia is getting back to showcasing soulful music. In her forthcoming music video, “Bittersweet,” the American Idol winner deliberately takes a trip back in time.
“I love soulful music. I grew up on soulful music, so I wanted to bring that to this video,” Fantasia said of the video in a preview clip distributed by Sony/BMG Monday (watch below).
Donning a ’20s look, Fantasia says “I took it back, curls, nails, the look…very intimate in the club” of the video, which takes place at a venue where she not only has an audience before her but, a man she once loved on her mind.
“I have an audience but I can’t seem to get this guy off my mind,” she says in the clip.
The official video for “Bittersweet” is slated to premiere Friday, June 25 on VEVO.
