While she has been quiet about her pregnancy and relationship with Swizz Beatz for sometime, Alicia Keys is now happy to let the world know her first child is a “gift”.
“I can’t wait to become a mom. No question,” she told The Mirror (UK) recently. “It’s the most beautiful gift in the world. Truly a gift from God.”
Recalling the close relationship she has with her mother, Keys hopes the same bond will happen with her own child.
“I have an amazing mother – she is a best friend to me. And I would like to be the same to my child,” says the “Unthinkable (“I’m Ready’) singer.
As previously reported, Keys and Swizz Beatz are officially engaged, expecting and planning a wedding, rumored to be set for this summer. She is also booked to play several concerts throughout the summer including the Essence Music Festival, taking place in New Orleans, LA over the July 4th holiday in the U.S.
