Well, it was a good run while it lasted.
Coco Gauff’s historic run at Wimbledon is over. The 15-year-old lost in the round-of-16 to seventh seeded Simona Halep 3-6, 3-6. Gauff started her run by taking out tennis legend Venus Williams in the first round. No one that young has made it this far in the tournament since Jennifer Capriati in 1991. Fans at a home-town watch party in Delray Beach, Florida could been seen cheering for and appreciating Gauff’s efforts despite the loss.
