We have all by now toughed it out and watched Ava DuVernay’s outstanding Netflix hit series ‘When They See Us’. A story about 5 teenagers that were not only falsely accused for brutality beating and raping a female jogger in 1989, but punished with a jail sentence that put targets on their backs while in jail that changed what the media monikered ‘The Central Park Five’ lives forever. Then through God the crime that was done in the dark was brought to light as we now moniker these men ‘The Exonerated Five’.
Back when this witch hunt was at its height in New York our now President Donald Trump took out a full page add calling for the death penalty for these young men and even going so far to list their names, address and phone numbers in the add. Add’s that caused the families of these young men to receive death threats and some to loose their jobs.
With that being said fast forwarding to now, what does Donald Trump think of the injustice that was carried out to Kevin Richardson, Antron Mccray, Raymond Santana Jr., Korey Wise and Yusef Salaam or better yet the role he played in their unjust fate? Although we should be surprised at his response because of who he is we probably are not. When asked would he apologize to the Exonerated Five, Donald Trump wanted to know why was he being asked that now, he said he won’t apologize, according to him they said they were guilty, Fairstein believes they are still guilty blah, blah, blah.
Take a listen to what the leader of the free world, Donald Trump, had to say when asked about apologizing to The Central Park Five below.
Trump, asked by @AprilDRyan if he would apologize for his remarks on the Central Park Five, does not apologize and adds: “You have people on both sides of that. They admitted their guilt.”
