The House is approving a bill that would offer a path to citizenship to more than two million undocumented immigrants, including dreamers. The bill passed by 50 votes and it gives anyone brought illegally into the country as a child ten years of legal residence status if they meet certain criteria. They would be able to earn a green card granting permanent residence if they complete two years of high education or military service, or by working for three years. Seven Republicans joined all 230 Democrats in backing the bill. However, it is unlikely to get a vote in the Republican-controlled Senate.
