Presidential candidate Senator Kamala Harris says it’s time to break up Facebook. The California Democrat told CNN’s State of the Union that Facebook has experienced massive growth and has prioritized its growth over the best interest of its consumers. She argued the social media giant is similar to a utility because people rely on it for daily function and therefore it should be regulated. Her comments were in response to Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes’ op-ed last week that called for the social media company to be broken up.
