A Purdue student who earned a national following as he battled terminal cancer has died.  Tyler Trent’s family said he died today at age 20.  The unlikely sports hero was featured on ESPN and was named team captain for the Old Oaken Bucket game against rival Indiana.  He scored 15-hundred of a possible 16-hundred on the S-A-T and wanted to be a sportswriter.  He never gave up on his dream of attending Purdue and he beat his first diagnosis of cancer in 2014.  But it returned in 2017 just a few months before he was to attend Purdue on a Presidential Scholarship.
