Controversy is growing after a referee forced a New Jersey high school wrestler to either cut off his hair or accept a forfeit. The referee, Alan Maloney, has reportedly been accused in the past of using racially charged language, but has never faced discipline from the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association. At the match earlier this week, Buena Regional High School wrestler Andrew Johnson was told of the ref’s decision that he would have to lose his dreadlocks or forfeit. He received an on the spot haircut before going on to win his match in overtime.

What are your thoughts on this? Would you let your child forfeit the match have him cut his hair so he could compete?
