Federal prosecutors in New York are reportedly investigating Donald Trump’s inaugural committee.  The Wall Street Journal says investigators are looking into whether the committee misspent some of the 107-million dollars that was raised in late 2016 and early 2017.  A key part of the investigation involves allegations that some donors gave money in return for special access or influence in the new administration.  The Journal says the investigation was prompted by materials that were seized from former Trump lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen.

Cohen was sentenced this week to three years in federal prison after pleading guilty to tax fraud, banking fraud and campaign finance violations.  Cohen has been cooperating with prosecutors.

Needless to say, it’s about to get REAL.
