Prince has an honorary degree from the University of Minnesota. The degree is to recognize the rock star’s influence on music and his role in shaping his hometown of Minneapolis. Prince’s sister received a Doctorate of Humane Letters on his behalf from the school’s president and regent at a ceremony wednesday. This comes after the school had planned to present him with the degree before his death in 2016.
