Paul Manafort’s former business partner is admitting that he committed crimes with the former Trump campaign chief. Rick Gates took the witness stand Monday in the bank fraud and money laundering trial against Manafort in Alexandria, Virginia. Gates confessed that he and Manafort did not report over a dozen foreign bank accounts, even though they knew it was illegal. He also claimed he embezzled hundreds of thousands of dollars from Manafort by creating fake expense reports. Gates has accepted a plea bargain from the Special Counsel in the Russia investigation.
