Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officials confirm that a man has died in a shooting at a north side apartment. The shooting happened at the Cottages of Fall Creek Apartments, near I-465 and East 56th Street, just before midnight Thursday night. Police say the man that died was killed by the people living in the apartment after the suspect broke in. According to officers, the suspect was able to break through a deadbolt on the apartment’s door to get inside. Once inside, police say that suspect began to assault a man and a woman inside the apartment. One of the people living inside then shot and killed that suspect. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
