Over the last few years, we have seen a number of artists come together to present duet albums and now it looks like you can add Faith Evans to that list because she recently announced that her upcoming duet album with her late husband the Notorious B.I.G. is expected to be released on Valentine’s Day 2017.

“I am currently finishing up a project called ‘The King & I’ which is a collaboration with me and Big. It’s a really special project. It’s coming together so amazingly. I have a few friends on the album. We don’t have an official release date. But it will be somewhere around Valentine’s Day,” she said.

She first mentioned The King & I back in a 2014 interview with Hip Hollywood, comparing it to the posthumous duets album between Natalie Cole and Nat King Cole, Unforgettable. Then back in March, while on the Dame Dash Radio Show, she said recording was finished.

“Today, if he was alive, I know, ultimately, we would’ve done something like this,” Evans says. “But the way the stuff has come together, and the way I’m using his vocals, it’s giving the stuff new life, it’s totally different.”

Evans says she is also preparing to drop the first single from the project which will feature her, Biggie and Jadakiss. So hopefully it won’t be long before fans hear it.
