Donald Trump disappointed an awful lot of people in Westfield Tuesday night. At a rally in Grand Park, the presumptive Republican nominee didn’t make an announcement regarding his choice for running mate. Indiana Governor Mike Pence introduced Trump and he’s reportedly on the short list of Vice Presidential choices. Trump later said, “Who the hell knows” if he’ll select Pence.

Though Trump didn’t make any Vice Presidential announcements Tuesday night in Westfield, Indiana… an Indiana businessman/politico has a plan for Indiana if and when he does. If Pence runs for Vice-President, the former head of Angie’s List wants Mitch Daniels to run for governor again. Former Angie’s List CEO Bill Oesterle is trying to get a ‘Draft Mitch’ movement off the ground. Oesterle ran Daniels’ 2004 campaign. Daniels is reportedly interested, but didn’t elaborate on the effort yesterday.

Pence may have given voters a preview of what to expect if he’s chosen as Trump’s running mate. Pence attacked Hillary Clinton and other Democrats as he introduced Trump to the crowd in Westfield. The decision on Pence as V-P must be made by Friday.

Marion County prosecutors are waiting for word from the FBI and the ATF before deciding what charges to file against an Indianapolis man accused of firing into a police officer’s home. Indianapolis Metro Police Department investigators say March Ratney fired five shots into the officer’s home and another three into his car. No one was hurt, but the officer and his family were home at the time of the incident. Police say Ratney threatened a similar crime back in 2010.

National…

President Obama hosts a meeting with law enforcement officials and civil rights leaders today. White House spokesman Josh Earnest said the meeting will focus on repairing the bonds of trust in many communities. Earnest noted a “tough week” for the U.S. last week. Obama honored the five fallen police officers in Dallas at a memorial Tuesday. He also included warm comments to the families of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. Their police-action shooting deaths in Louisiana and Minneapolis were cited as the impetus for the ambush attacks by the sniper in Dallas who killed the officers.

Though Donald Trump journeyed to Indiana on Tuesday to speak to a “receptive” crowd, he will not make the same choice next week in nearby Cincinnati. Trump will not be speaking at the NAACP annual convention which is scheduled there July 16-20. The civil rights organization’s president told CNN that the likely Republican presidential nominee declined the group’s invitation to speak at the event. A campaign spokeswoman has confirmed that Trump is skipping the event. Likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton is scheduled to appear. The convention’s theme this year is “Our Lives Matter, Our Votes Count.”

After the Indiana rally, Trump made an appearance on Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor.” There he told the host the Black Lives Matter movement is dividing America. He said the group is hurting itself with its actions. He also said the large majority of police officers are great and the media never shows the good things they do.

Vermont senator Bernie Sanders has finally offered his endorsement to Clinton for the presidency. At a unity rally in New Hampshire Tuesday, Sanders said Clinton is “far and away the best candidate” to address the needs of the American people.

Sports…

One of the Colts’ back-up running backs is facing a marijuana ticket in Utah. Police in Logan Utah ticketed Robert Turbin last week. Officers say they smelled the drugs during a traffic stop. Turbin played his college football at Utah State. He signed with the Colts in March.

The Indiana Fever host the Connecticut Sun this afternoon. Indiana is coming off a win on Sunday. They got on over the Storm 93-82 on the road in Seattle. The Fever enter today’s affair 9-and-11 on the season. Today’s game tips off noon.

Weather…

Clouds and sun this morning with scattered thunderstorms developing this afternoon. Today’s ‘Hump Day’ High: around 90 degrees.

Finally…

You’ll still be able to get corn dogs and cotton candy, but fair goers at this year’s Indiana State Fair won’t be able to ride the train. The Hoosier Heritage Port Authority decided earlier this week to keep a ban on the tracks that carry the State Fair Train in place. The train is at the center of an internal investigation and a safety review. More than 10,000 people rode the State Fair Train last year. They’ll have to find a new way to the fairgrounds this year.
