First we waited years, then months since “Formation” dropped the day before the Super Bowl to hear some new music from Queen Bey. And now that wait is finally over: Saturday night, the anticipated Lemonade finally dropped on HBO.

And trust us, it did not disappoint.

This lengthy conception video for her 6th studio album is a fusion of touching poetry, stunning visuals and deeply personal songs that send out powerful messages of #BlackGirlMagic, self-empowerment, social justice, Daddy issues, the power of love (LGBT and straight) and heartbreak. Not to mention, Beyonce was joined by special guests Lesley McSpadden (Mike Brown’s mother) and Sybrina Fulton (Trayvon Martin‘s mother)ZendayaWinnie Harlow, Quvenzhané Wallis, Amandla Stenberg and Serena Williams (who was twerking to her heart’s desire).

Bey also threw in some Malcolm X just to remind folks that she is still on her Black Power flow. And she also shared home movies of her mother’s wedding, her own wedding, her pregnancy and daughter Blue Ivy’s birthday party.

And obviously, Twitter thought her love letter to Black women was straight FIYAH:

But one glaring theme that was too hard to ignore was that perhaps things have been rocky between Bey and Jay over the years. There was a lot of surprising talk about “cheating,” “side chicks” and “Beckys.” Like Jay, what’s really going on over there?

Well it’s clear that they are doing fine, despite the rumors and some of these songs:

In the end, what a way to drop an album! This tweet sums up how we felt watching the film:

What did you think of Lemonade? Will you be buying her new album on TIDAL?
