Villanova is celebrating its second men’s basketball title in school history. The story is Kris Jenkins. His teammate passed him the ball and he buried a three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Wildcats a 77-74 win over North Carolina in the national championship game Monday night in Houston. One of basketball’s mega superstars was in the house rooting-on his alma mater during the men’s NCAA Championship game. Michael Jordan was watching in the stands as the Tar Heels suffered this heartbreaking loss. He was shown on TV multiple times at NRG Stadium in Houston. Jordan, who is now the owner of the Charlotte Hornets, helped North Carolina win one of its five NCAA titles when they defeated Georgetown in 1982. The NCAA College Basketball Tourney action concludes tonight as the ladies take the court for the Women’s NCAA Championship Game here in Indy at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. It’s the University of Connecticut taking on Syracuse as both women’s basketball teams meet on center court for the battle royale. Syracuse will try to stop UConn’s history-making bid to yet another title and their 75th straight victory, the second-longest winning streak in NCAA and school history. Tip is at 8:30 p.m.
