Police are continuing their search today for a  toddler who disappeared from her father’s house in Spencer. Investigators in Owen County say Shaylyn Ammerman vanished some time on Tuesday night from her crib. The family is desperate for help in locating the 14-month-old. She was last seen wearing a onesie outfit and is described as a white female with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. Any Info about this case, call Indiana State Police at 812-332-4411.

A suspected robber will likely walk into court with a limp, after Indianapolis Metro Police officers say they shot the man in the behind. Police say the man had just robbed a gas station on Panama Avenue around 1 o’clock. He and another man escaped into a nearby apartment complex. Police say he pointed a gun at one of their officers and as he ran, disobeying an order for him to stop, the officer fired a single shot into his buttocks. He’s in serious condition at Eskenazi Hospital. The second suspect was arrested.

IMPD is shrinking the size of its patrol areas. A new strategy announced yesterday will add 19 beats to the current 33 across the police department’s jurisdiction. Cops assigned to the new areas will patrol an average of one-point-14-square miles instead of 11 miles on average. Mayor Joe Hogsett and IMPD Chief Troy Riggs say the return to beat policing will enhance community trust and combat violence.

The statewide route of the Indiana Bicentennial Torch Relay is now set.  Officials say it will showcase locations of natural beauty, local interest and historic significance. The relay will begin on September 9 in Indiana’s original capital of Corydon and will cover 3,200 miles in each of the state’s 92 counties. Among the stops will be the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum, Connor Prairie, French Lick Resort, Indiana High School Basketball Hall of Fame and Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

There are new reports out Thursday that Belgian authorities believe a second suspect might have been involved in the deadly bombing at a Brussels subway station. Belgian and French news media report that security video shows a second man, carrying a large bag, walking with the suicide bomber who killed at least 20 people, there, when he blew himself up Tuesday morning. There’s no word on whether the second man died in the explosion.

President Obama says the challenge in defeating ISIS is to do it in a smart and effective way. Obama insisted that the U.S. must not respond to terrorism through fear.  Obama dismissed a proposal by Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz to give police broad authority to patrol and secure Muslim neighborhoods in the U.S.

Most Republicans want the party to band together to back Donald Trump at a possible contested convention. A new Monmouth University poll says 54-percent of Republican voters think the GOP should support Trump if he wins the most delegates, but doesn’t get enough to secure the nomination.

Hillary Clinton has a big lead in Democratic delegates but she and Bernie Sanders are just about dead-even in a new poll.  The Bloomberg Politics poll has the former secretary of state trailing the Vermont senator 49 to 48-percent among Democrats who’ve already voted or plan to vote.  That’s the popular vote but not the one that gets a candidate elected. Question. Are you registered to vote here in Indiana? The deadline to do so is April 4.

In Sports…

The NCAA Tournament resumes tonight with the start of the Sweet 16. Eight of the 16 remaining teams hit the court. In the South Regional from Louisville, Villanova plays Miami and Kansas clashes with Maryland. In the West Regional from Anaheim, Oklahoma takes on Texas A&M and Oregon battles Duke. Indiana schools hit the hardwoods on Friday.

The Pacers host the New Orleans Pelicans tonight at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Tonight’s game ends a five-game homestand for Indiana, which visits the Nets on Saturday. Tip is at 7 p.m.

Former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle is being met with some irony while serving time in a Colorado prison for child sex crimes. TMZ reports Fogle has recently started a new job, handing out sandwiches to corrections officers. The sex offender was sentenced to 15 years in prison last November.
