Nina Simone’s family is not with happy with Zoe Saldana portraying the late singer.
They made that clear after it was revealed that Saldana was tapped for the part. But now that the trailer has been released, giving fans a first look at Saldana’s role as Nina, the actress is going head-to-head with Nina’s family on social media.
It started when Saldana shared a Nina quote on Twitter Tuesday.
It didn’ take long for Nina’s family to take to Nina’s account and respond.
Saldana then headed over to Instagram.
Nina’s family added a cryptic post on Twitter to reveal how much Saldana’s portray has impacted their family.
The latest round was sparked after Saldana’s black faced styled makeup was unveiled in the trailer that was released earlier this week.
