Queen Latifah is being cast for yet another on-screen role. Deadline reports that after a year of leading roles, the actress is now being cast in Lee Daniels’s untitled new FOX pilot. The new project will reportedly be centered around the story of a girl group trying to make it in Atlanta’s music scene. Latifah will be playing the role of Carlotta, the owner of a beauty salon who serves as the group’s reluctant mentor. Earlier in the year, Latifah appeared on HBO’s Bessie Smith biopic and most recently led NBC’s live production of “The Wiz.”
