The Greater Indianapolis Branch of the NAACP ( @IndyNAACP ) is asking tough questions when it comes to the future of Indianapolis Public Schools ( @IPSSchools ) and the educations of the children here in the city. Among the questions is this central one, “Is there a great school in every neighborhood?” In light of the 2015 strategic plan that the state’s second-largest school district has unrolled, the historic advocacy group is inviting the community to come sit down with them and IPS School Superintendent, Dr. Lewis Ferebee, on Monday evening, November 23 to have a conversation about the district’s plan for the future as it pushes for autonomy and innovation.

WEIGH IN:  If you have questions or want to offer input on whether you think each IPS school can be managed independently to foster and support student achievement, then this is the meeting to attend. It will be held at the Julia Carson Government Center, 300 East Fall Creek Parkway-North in Indianapolis, 6-8 p.m., free parking.

NAACP Branch #3053 is inviting stakeholders, parents, grandparents, and those who are concerned about the future of the neighborhoods of this city to attend.

Questions may be directed to the branch office at 317-925-5127.
