ABC is booking a return trip to “Fantasy Island,” this time with a female-lead.  “Variety” reports that ABC is partnering with Sony Pictures Television to develop a new version of the show where clients traveled to an island to live out their intimate fantasies.  The original series ran from 1978 to 1984 and starred Ricardo Montalban as the mysterious host, Mr. Roarke, and Herve Villechaize as his sidekick Tattoo.  But don’t expect cries of “The plane, the plane” to begin each episode.  The new version plans to have a woman play the host and instead of an island, “Fantasy Island” is the name of a San Francisco-based company that will provide people with the chance for the wildest dreams to come true.
