“This bill combines the corrections act and some of the aspects that Corey Booker from New jersey wanted, has some expungment related issues that we’ve never in any other bill,” Burke said. “This bill is really to be compared to theĀ house bill, called the Safe Justice Act.”
On the retroactive attempt:
“It makes crack cocaine and powder cocaine penalty retroactive. It’s an attempt at a rollback of minimum policy.”
