Blame it on the weather… the U.S. Open Semifinal match between reigning champ Serena Williams and opponent Roberta Vinci is scheduled to get underway today in Arthur Ashe Stadium after bad weather caused a postponement on Thursday night.

Watch HERE.

Story…

The woman dubbed “one of the greatest female athletes of all time,” Serena Williams, continues her quest for tennis’ calendar-year Grand Slam today at the U.S. Open. The top-ranked player in the world will face Italy’s Roberta Vinci in the semifinals match as she searches for a fourth straight U.S. Open title and a seventh overall.

Serena defeated her big sister Venus Williams on Tuesday in the quarterfinals, 6-2, 1-6, 6-3. It was an emotional match between the siblings where they played off of each other’s strengths and weaknesses until the end when Serena advanced. Serena is aiming to become the first player since Steffi Graf in 1988 to win all four Grand Slam events in the same year. She’s also looking to tie Graf with her 22nd career Grand Slam win.

COVERAGE TIME: Williams vs. Vinci gets underway around 11 a.m. Eastern, weather permitting.
