The proposed bus rapid transit plan here in Indy is about to make a pivotal move forward. IndyGo is applying for a $50 million grant from the federal government. Officials say that grant money would cover most of the cost to build the first leg of the system. The first phase of the 35-mile Red Line would stretch from Westfield to Greenwood through the center of Indianapolis. There are lots of opportunities to learn more about the Red Line and comment on the plan at meetings around town including at a booth at the Indiana State Fair. Get the meeting dates and times, HERE.
