Students are returning to class in Bloomington at Indiana University after a busy weekend that came on the heels of tragedy. I.U.’s senior class lost one of its own when Hanna Wilson, 22, was found murdered in Brown County on Friday. Tributes continue to pour in for Wilson whose body was discovered near Plum Creek. She’d been beaten to death. During Sunday’s Little 500 bike race, a moment of silence was held in Wilson’s honor before the bicyclists raced away from the starting line. Police have arrested Daniel Messel in connection with Wilson’s murder. Messel apparently has a history of violence against women dating back more than two decades. We hope to learn today what led police to Messel and whether police have connected him to any of the other “missing woman” cases in the Bloomington area.
