Earlier last year, Times had wrote a piece that made a very controversial statement about Voila Davis saying how Shonda Rhimes choose, “older, darker-skinned and less classically beautiful than [Kerry] Washington” to be the leading lady in “How To Get Away With Murder”. When she got her award, based off of the people’s choice, she thanked Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, and Peter Nowalk ….then she followed it up with saying “for thinking of a leading lady that looks like my classic beauty.” YOU GO GIRL!
