A Florida judge on Tuesday ordered Ebony Wilkerson, the Mother who drove her children in to the Atlantic Ocean in March, to be committed to a state mental hospital, NBC News reports.

Circuit Judge Leah R. Case found that Wilkerson met the legal standard of being “manifestly dangerous to herself and others,” the report says. Wilkerson was taken in to custody and will be held temporarily in jail, the news outlet reports.

The 33-year-old Mother of four, including an infant, recently pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity after prosecutors agreed to drop attempted murder charges, as NewsOne reported earlier.

Wilkerson was arrested in March, after driving in to a surf off Daytona Beach, Fla., in her minivan with her children, ages 10, 9, and 3, inside the vehicle.

Bystanders raced in to the water to rescue her and the children.

At the time, her court-appointed lawyer had argued that she was stable enough to get conditional release. Wilkerson soon gave birth in jail to a baby boy, who is with his father and was then released from jail in May on the condition that she have no contact with the three children, who are in state custody.
