We all knew that Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida’s divorce would be “MUST SEE TV” on this season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Fans across the board seemed to be sympathetic watching their marriage crumble during the season premiere.
“RHOA” star NeNe Leakes, opened up on “Watch What Happens Live” and gave her thoughts about the broken couple.
During the show, Leakes watched a clip of Parks and Nida’s dramatic argument, in which Nida accused Parks of abandoning him and Parks accused Nida of humiliating her. And although Leakes and Parks have had a tumultuous past, she showed a miraculous amount of sympathy for Parks.
“I do see her point in that. But it’s just really sad. We see the kids, we see her mom, it’s just really sad. All I can do is really pray for them because I know how it is to be publicly divorcing or publicly be going through something. It’s tough with people judging you!” Leakes explained. “I understand when she says, ‘What about my good name or what about people judging me? Sometimes people only see one side. They don’t get to see the other side, so I feel bad for her,” Leakes continued.
However, Leakes showed sympathy for Nida as well.
“I must say, I like Apollo, so I feel bad for him too,” said Leakes.
“I try and talk to Phaedra and give her the truest advice I can give her. I tell her what I’ve gone through. I’ve never been through that before, actually someone going off to prison, but I know that must be hard. And the things I say to her are just live your life and just be true to who you are. It’s really all you can do in a situation like this because people are going to judge you regardless.”
