A new study has found that women are more likely than men to drink an excessive amount of wine. Conducted by trade magazine “The Grocer,” the research shows that 16 percent of women admit to “often” drinking a whole bottle of wine by themselves at home. The majority of women in that category are women between the ages of 25 and 34. Overall, however, most drinkers enjoy wine while outside the home and with company. Forty-five percent say they often share a bottle of wine with a group of friends, and 31 percent say they never keep any at home. Only 18 percent of both men and women admit to “drinking in excess.”
