Today we celebrate the liquid fuel that powers the workforce. It’s National Coffee Day and there are a few companies here in Indy and across the nation who are giving the ‘elixir of the gods’ out for free. Some of them include Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme. Dunkin is offering free cups of its new dark blend. Krispy Kreme is also giving away free cups of coffee, but you can make it a mocha or latte for just a buck. So far, it looks like Starbucks is laying low and Caribou Coffee is pretty quiet. These well-known companies haven’t announced how they’re celebrating.
If you’d like to celebrate and at the same time chit-chat with local law enforcement about what’s going on in your neighborhood–maybe adding your perspective to addressing local crime–you can do so as the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department teams up with McDonald’s in observance of this year’s day to celebrate the tasty beverage. Join IMPD for “Coffee With a Cop” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Southeast District at the McDonald’s at 7229 East Washington Street.
