According to E! Online, during a ThisIs50 interview, legendary emcee Rah Digga was asked about the current state of women in Hip Hop. She responded by speaking about why she isn’t a fan of the Hip Pop rhymer from Australia Iggy Azalea.

Said Rah Digga,

“I don’t consider [Iggy] Hip Hop. I listen to her album. Everything that I hear on there is everything but that… Hip Hop is representative of this: to inform and empower inner city youth. I’m fine with anybody’s race, creed, or color participating, but don’t ever forget what it was created for in the first place.”

So Azalea responded via Twitter on Thursday afternoon saying,

“I honestly don’t really mind if I’m described as rap or pop. My passion is purely making music and entertaining,” she tweeted. “Every female rapper gets accused of not writing, and thats fine i just find it disappointing to see it come from other women. Especially ones who don’t know me or anyone around me, its actually sad. crabs in a bucket syndrome.”

Upon hearing that Iggy’s put her two cents into the conversation Digga spoke out again. She took to her own Twitter page and spoke on it again by saying,

“Kinda hard to have an intellectual convo about Hip Hop as a whole when the person you’re talking to makes it about 1 person. Not my crusade, I don’t like that it’s all being made to target 1 person. That is just a byproduct of what I’m talking about. Making it a “feud” to distract.”

Doh! So what do we have to say about it?
