The U.S. Men’s National Team are in action Thursday taking on Germany. This is a critical match if you follow international soccer (or if you just want to root for all things USA). Since so many feel that this is a “U.S. can shock the world” moment if the team beats Germany finishing first, folks are trying to get out of Thursday’s responsibilities (like work and any other thing deemed as kinda annoying) to be focused on watching this sports story unfold and potential history being made.

…but what do you do, about the boss who’s expecting you there? Hmmm… Here’s some help.

The U.S. Soccer Coach wrote your “excuse note” for you to miss work today. Check it out below. Print it off. Make a copy for your boss. Enjoy today’s match up at 12 p.m. (Eastern).

Be sure to let us know how this approach worked out for you on Friday. (wink. wink.)

World Cup Excuse Note

The Excuse Note Reads:

To whom it may concern:

Please excuse (insert name) from work on Thursday, June 26th.

I understand that this absence may reduce the productivity of your workplace, but I can assure you that it is for an important cause. The #USMNT has a critical World Cup game vs. Germany and we will need the full support of the nation if we are to advance to the next round.

By the way, you should act like a good leader and take the day off as well. Go USA!
