Police say two men bumped into each other walking into the Thornton’s Gas Station on Pendleton Pike near Shadeland Avenue in Lawrence just after 1 o’clock Wednesday morning and that set off this latest shooting incident. The men argued near the front door, pulled guns and shot each other wounding in the abdomen and leg. A woman believed to be with one of the men was also shot when she tried to step in and calm the situation. She was shot in the hand. She was taken to I-U Hospital and is expected to be fine. Both men were taken to Eskenazi Hospital. They are listed  in critical condition. Lawrence police have not released any of their names at this time.

In other gas station drama, this time  on Indy’s west side, metro police are looking for two armed men they say led a Marian University police officer on a chase in a stolen car.  They say the suspects carjacked the vehicle at a gas station overnight and crashed it in the lawn of Cold Spring School.  Police say the suspects ran from the crash site.
