Newly drafted St.Louis Rams football player Michael Sam will be the subject of a new documentary series for the Oprah Winfrey Network. OWN announced Wednesday that it would creat at multi-part series on Sam and his journey into professional sports. Micahel Sam made history last weekend by becoming the first openly gay football player to be drafted by the NFL.
In a statement,Winfrey said it was an honor to have Sam’s trust in sharing his private journey. Sam also thanked Oprah for her support,adding that he hopes his story will help others accept who they are while pursuing their own dreams.
