taxes DEALS

First there’s news that the U.S. Postal Service will not extend hours to accommodate Tax Day, April 15th because they say they cannot afford to do so because of their budget. Now we get a bit of delicious news. A number of businesses are taking a little of the sting out of this final day to file.

Arby’s is giving out free snack-sized curly fries, with a coupon. Bruegger’s Bagels is knocking $3.50-off its bag of 13 bagels and two tubs of cream cheese, a $10.40 deal. Boston Market has a similar theme, two half-chicken individual meals for $10.40. But it’s not all just food. Some are offering services too.

With a coupon, Office Depot will shred up to five pounds of paper on Tuesday’s Tax Day, including old tax records.

Get your java on! McDonald’s–one of the proud sponsors of the 2014 Women’s Empowerment Series April 26th at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Coliseum–is keeping up its Tax Day tradition of free small coffee during breakfast hours. To round out what may be a long day of number crunching, end the day in entertaining fashion. You can sing for your supper at Hard Rock Cafe. From 5 to 7 p.m., the chain will serve a free burger, sandwich, or salad to anyone who stands up and sings for the other customers.
