niecy nash hbo show

Good news for Niecy Nash.

HBO has renewed her comedy, “Getting On” for a second season, reports TV Guide.

The series based on the BBC show of the same name, follows the staff of a beleaguered California hospital’s geriatric wing. Nash and Alex Borstein play nurses and “Roseanne” alum Laurie Metcalf is the self-absorbed doctor on call. [Scroll down to watch clips.]

The second season of “Getting On” will consist of six episodes. It’s one of the few freshman comedies to survive at HBO after the pay cable network canceled “Hello Ladies” and “Family Tree” in January.

Nash also stars in TV Land’s “Soul Man” opposite Cedric the Entertainer.
