MORNING NEWS – TUES., 11/12/13

Weather sometimes is the top story…

Bundle up because it’s cold outside with remnants of that light snowfall still hanging around leaving INDOT crews busy spreading salt on highways to combat slick roadways.  Drivers slow it down it’s a bit slippery out there.  Though conditions were reported as dry when a car ended up in a pond in Fishers near 126th and Olio Road. The driver was pulled out and transported in critical condition to the hospital.  Police think he may have suffered a medical incident behind the wheel.

Bad Weather Leaves Power Failures

That first snowfall left a few power outages in spots as it moved thru the area. Duke Energy reports most outages are in Hamilton County.

Multiple Shootings in City

Metro police are investigating gunshot incidents across Indy. Two women and a man are being treated at Methodist Hospital following a triple shooting last night in the 1900 block of Broadway Street. He’s in serious condition and they are in good condition.  Three children were also found unharmed in an apartment at the scene. Those kids are being cared for by relatives. The case is not being treated as a random incident because investigators think they were targeted. Another incident took place at a Family Dollar store, and a man with a gunshot wound was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital.  Police have no information on the shooters but say if you have info call them at 317-262-TIPS (8477).

Police Need You In Search for Suspect

Police also want your help to apprehend a man wanted in connection with the home-invasion robberies on both Spring Mill Road and East 79th Street. They’re trying to locate 20-year-old Adrian Anthony to ask him some questions. Anthony also has an active warrant for an unrelated case for resisting law enforcement. If you know where he is, they say don’t approach because he is considered armed and dangerous. Instead, call 9-1-1 or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS (8477).

Broad Ripple Development Project Moves Forward

There were also other important votes in the council meeting Monday night. A controversial development project in Broad Ripple got the green light. The council passed a zoning plan that now clears the way for a Whole Foods grocery store, apartment complex and parking garage along the canal. Those in favor of the project say it will attract more money and high-end residents. Those against it say local business will suffer because of the move.
