The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is hiring–this from Department of Public Safety Director Troy Riggs and IMPD Chief Rick Hite. IMPD will add several merit and reserve police officers, civilian employees and civilian volunteer police officers. Funding for these positions will come from approval of the flat 2014 departmental budgets. The department says it is looking for diversity in these new recruits as well, so minorities and women are strongly encouraged to apply.
