Two Dead In Westside Hotel
Indianapolis police are investigating two deaths at the Royal Inn. Officers say Michael Gilbert and Elizabeth Hagedorn were shot. Hotel staff said they thought the two were sleeping when they checked the room on two occasions. Anyone with information is asked to call 317-327-3475.

City leaders could find out today if Indy is a finalist to host the 2018 Super Bowl. An advisory committee narrows down the list of contenders, then the winner is selected by NFL owners during their spring meeting in May. Indianapolis’ competition? New Orleans, Tampa, Denver and Minneapolis.
Free Legal Advice Today
The Indianapolis Bar Association is offering free legal advice today. The Ask A Lawyer program is available from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at eleven area library branches. Organizers say about 100 attorneys will be on hand for consultations about bankruptcy, child custody and support, criminal law, personal injury and estate planning.
Air Traffic Controllers Talk About Shutdown
The union that represents air traffic controllers says the government shutdown is affecting a lot of things behind the scenes at Indianapolis International Airport. Not only are air traffic controllers not getting paid, but preventative maintenance on radar controllers used to track airplanes has stopped. Test pilots, quality assurance people that audit performance, those that hire new controllers, and clerical staff have all been furloughed.
