Singer Jill Scott may have everything she wants right now and can give her son the world, but that doesn’t stop this mom from teaching her son responsibility.

Scott stopped by “The Arsenio Hall Show” to promote her new film “Baggage Claim” when she revealed that her 4-year-old son Jett is assigned chores so that he can develop a strong work ethic.

“I’m raising a little brown boy in America and I want him to have dignity and grace,” she said. “I want him to understand that he can do anything but he has to have a work ethic.”

Like most mothers, Scott doesn’t let Jett slide on his duties around the house. If he fails to complete his chores, “there’s hell to pay,” said Scott.

She feels its important for her son to develop the belief that he can do anything but it starts with being able to do his chores.

But Jett has learned a few tricks on his own like how to manipulate his mom in order to get a piece of cake.
