The day is just lovely, it should be TGIS :)  There are plenty of activities for you and your family this weekend and why not get out of the house with all this great weather :)  Check out some of the events listed below:

  • It’ the 5th Annual Hemophilia Walk at Ft Harrison Park off of Post Rd in Indy.  One and 2.5 mile routes and includes lunch, entertainment and family activities.  The Walk is at 10:30am and for more information contact them at 317.570.0039 or www.hemophilia.org/walk
  • Route 6t7 Community Fun Fest is here at Living Hope Church off of Pendleton Pike.  Live music, smoked BBQ, free carnival games and much more going on now until 3pm.  Check out this event at www.ihcindy.com for more information
  • Going on now until 12noon is the “Let’s Walk and Roll to School” which is a workshop in Indy to inform you of the benefits and best ways for walking and biking to school.  IMPD and the Prosecutor’s Office will be on hand at this free event.  See www.indytalks.info
  • The 28th Annual Fly-in for Diabetes Fundraising Event is today in Greenwood and Pike Radio-Control Flying Field.  It’s a radio-control model air show going on until 5pm.  You bring the lawn chairs or blankets and they’ll provide the refreshments;  see www.indyrcsouth.org
  • It’s the season final event as part of the Lucas Oil NexGeneRacers at the IMS.  Food, fun and much more going on now until 2pm.  See www.nxgdriving.com
  • Visit the Majestic African Textiles Exhibit at the IMA which features different royal and prestige clots, mask, ritual garments and more.  See www.imamuseum.org for more information
  • The 4 day festival is back at Military Park…the 18th Annual Indianapolis Irish Festival!  Plenty of food, drinks, kid zone and much, much more.  Going on until 11pm tonight and runs until 5pm on Sunday.  Visit www.indyirishfest.com for more information
  • Enjoy a wonderful ride on the Caboose from the Indiana Transportation Museum.  Train rides from Forest Park to the Courthouse in Noblesville and back for only $5.  Visit their website at www.itm.org/Jeffersonian.php
  • It’s that time for the 2nd Annual Sister Cities Festival on Georgia Street with musicians, dancers, kid carnival, sports and more to highlight Indy’s eight sister city relationships.  This is a free event and goes on until 6pm tonight.  See www.gerogiastreetindy.com for more event information

  • The 10 day Indy Jazz celebration continues this weekend at different venues around the city.  Details are available at www.indyjazzfest.net
  • Check out the two-day electronic music festival with the Wheel House Festival at Opti Park in Broad Ripple.  Live music, games and much more.  Ticket prices vary but kids under 7 are free.  See www.wheelhousefestival.com
