Make smiley faces or frowny faces so your guy or girl knows your current mood. Instead of saying that you’re happy or sad, let an emoticon speak for you.

Use nicknames or pet names whenever possible, which lets the other person know you’re thinking about him or her. Use the same special name you do in person, be it “sweetie,” “darling” or “honey.”

  • 3

Wait for the other person to respond before you send another message and give her time to respond. She may be right in the middle of doing something else but still want to respond.

  • 4

Ask how he feels or what he’s doing if you send a text message that seems a little off the cuff. Your significant other might be trying to figure out a way to respond.

  • 5

Act cute and flirty whenever possible and say the same things you would if the person was there in front of you. Think of something that will grab her attention right off the bat.

  • 6

Try flirting early in the morning or late at night, anytime the other person might not be expecting it. This puts you front and center in his mind, and you’ll make sure he’s thinking of you.

  • 7

Be the first one to end the conversation every now and then by telling her you need to do something or go somewhere. That keeps the person guessing and wondering what else you have going on.
