Thursday Morning Starts With 2 More Indianapolis Shootings

It sounds like a bad reoccurring theme in Indianapolis as 2 more shootings happened overnight.  The first happening near 22nd and College Avenue around Midnight, Leaving two people injured, one critically. Officers found one person who had multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen. That victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police found a second victim on the scene with a gunshot wound to the leg. That victim was in good condition.

Then the shooting second, began with an argument ended with gunfire when a man was shot in the leg outside the Parkway Terrace Apartments on Washington Street around 3 this morning. The victim is in good condition at Wishard Memorial Hospital.

No arrests have been made yet in that case, but police do have a suspect in custody. (Photo Courtesy: WRTV)

 

2 Shot On Northeast Side Wednesday Afternoon

One person was shot in the face and another person was injured on the city’s northeast side yesterday afternoon.

The incident happened near the 700 block of North Chester Avenue.

Officials said one victim was shot in the face and the second victim received cuts to his leg.

Police said both male victims were in their early 40s and were conscious and breathing after the incident.

The shooting victim was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital in critical condition and is expected to survive.

 

High Winds Leave Damage In North Central Indiana

High winds caused significant damage in northern Indiana yesterday afternoon.

Peru and Miami County officials are assessing the damage, which includes down trees and overturned vehicles.

RTV6 reports that at least one mobile home was destroyed by strong winds.

About a dozen cars were damaged and one home was possibly destroyed after a large tree fell onto the house. The most severe injury reported was a broken toe.

 

Expelled Gay Student Settles With IPS

The Tech High School student expelled for bringing a stun gun to school to scare away bullies is settling with IPS.  As part of the deal, Darnell Young will get 65-thousand-dollars and his expulsion will be removed from his record.  The openly gay teenager filed a lawsuit claiming IPS did nothing to protect him from the bullies, despite repeated complaints.
