A Florida woman being praised by police for turning in $36,000 she found on a golf course said her Christian faith led her to “do what’s right.”

Rachel Castillo, who works serving drinks to golfers at the Miami Beach Golf Course, said a customer alerted her to a bag left behind on a bench at the course Jan. 20 and she discovered the bad was filled with “stack after stack” of cash, WSVN-TV, Miami, reported Tuesday.

Castillo said she contacted police to turn over the bag, which also contained a 76-year-old man’s identification.

“Easy money is not good money, you know?” Castillo said of why she turned the money in. “I was really freaking out a little bit.”

“I believe in the Bible,” she said. “I’m a Christian, and the Bible says, ‘Do not steal, do not lie,’ you know, all these things, and if you do what’s right, if you live the right way, you’ll be taken care of. I believe I’ll be taken care of … if you do what’s right.”

Police praised Castillo for handing over the money. They said they are working on returning the money to the elderly man.
