Gas Station Customer Abducted

Johnson Co. police are investigating an armed robbery that happened at a convenience store early this morning.

Dispatchers said about 1 a.m., a man walked into the Circle K, grabbed the only customer inside and forced him behind the counter.  The man had a gun and took money from the cash register, before he then forced the customer to hop in his car and drive him to Indianapolis before getting out on I-70.

Dispatchers described the suspect as a thin, black man, about 5 foot 6, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.

 

Police Investigate Male Groping College Girls

Purdue University police are investigating three sexual assaults reported on or near campus.

The university issued a news release Thursday asking for the public’s help in identifying a possible suspect described as a college-age male on a skateboard

The male reportedly grabbed three women in a sexual manner. All three incidents happened in broad daylight.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Purdue Police Department.

 

Police Still Looking For Intruder One Week Later

It now has been a week since a robber entered the of 67-year-old Thomas Tefft and his wife Laura, and shooting Thomas Tefft and stealing the couples black 2009 Hyundai Sonata.

Residents of the neighborhood gathered for a meeting yesterday to get the latest on the investigation from detectives  and voiced their concerns about crime in their neighborhood.

Detective said the car is still missing, and they have no suspects or leads in the case.

The suspect wore a ski mask and gray hoodie. He’s described as a black male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, in his mid-20s.

 

Powerball Grows to $320 Million

No Winner! And now the giant Powerball jackpot that’s grown to $320 million.

Wednesday night’s drawing was the 12th-consecutive with no winner, pushing the jackpot over $250,000 for the third time in less than a year.

This week’s jackpot would get a single winner $198.3 million in cash. Your chances of winning are only one in 170 million.

IPS Teacher Robbed in School Parking Lot

Police are trying to figure out who robbed an IPS teacher at gunpoint on Wednesday.

Investigators say Anthony Delarosa was leaving School 103 when two black males ordered him to the ground, then took his keys, wallet, cell phone and lunchbox.

They also took his blue 2012 Honda Civic with the Ohio license plates.

Detectives described the robbers as black men wearing hooded-sweatshirts with red bandanas covering their mouths.

Police asked anyone with information about the armed robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.

 

Man Killed in I-465 Crash

A Greenfield man was killed in a crash that closed I-465 on the city’s southwest side yesterday morning.

Police said 46 year old Kenneth S. Meadows, was driving a work van when he ran into the back of a tractor-trailer.

Witnesses told police the semi was driving slowly and that Meadows was speeding before the crash. They said they didn’t see any brake lights, and Police said no skid marks were left behind

Meadows was taken to Indiana University Health’s Methodist Hospital, where he later died.
