Seven women who work at an Indianapolis hair salon are claiming they are being denied their shares of a $9.5 million lottery ticket that a co-worker purchased on their behalf as part of an office lottery pool.

The co-worker told the women the winning ticket was one she bought for herself and not with their pooled money, said Scott Montross, an Indianapolis attorney representing the seven women.

A Marion County judge approved Montross’s move for a temporary stop on paying the jackpot while he attorney considers the group’slegal options. A hearing Wednesday, Montross said, will determine whether the order lasts beyond that day.
